Scholarships for Post-Graduate Hungarian Students in the United Kingdom
The Grants: are for a maximum of £7000 and are designed to cater for a variety of postgraduate study opportunities., from formal courses at a British music college to master classes or attachments to an institution such as the Royal Opera House, The Glyndebourne Festival or a similar opportunity for advanced study. Grants are to cover the costs of the study, and not to meet day to day living costs. Grants will be paid directly to the receiving institution by the Liszt Academy Network.
Applicants: must be Hungarian . Often they would be studying or have studied at the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy in Budapest. They may be in any musical discipline. Students must organise their own study arrangements though they may approach us while these are being arranged. We understand that it is not always easy to be sure of arrangements until the last moment.
References: Applicants must show evidence of the support of their professor for the study they wish to undertake, in the form of a reference letter. They must also provide an independent reference.
Living Costs: Applicants must also show evidence of their ability to sustain themselves while studying in the United Kingdom.
The Application process: All candidates must complete the application form attached. Applications will be reviewed by an independent panel set up by the Liszt Academy Network. The panel will take up references and may discuss candidates with the appropriate persons at the Ferenc Liszt Academy. Candidates may be called for interview and audition in Budapest or London by the panel or other persons chosen by the Liszt Academy Network. The decision of the Network is final.
