 WHAT'S ON IN HUNGARY

Paco de Lucía
In the course of his career the renowned flamenco guitarist has produced more than 25 albums, received hundreds of prestigious prizes and earned the highest praise from critics around the world for his universal art and the spectacular musical revolution he launched.

Nigel Kennedy

The eccentric violin virtuoso who practically comes home to Budapest first presented his Bach–Ellington programme – that may at first appear unusual – in London in September 2009, on that occasion with the famous Philharmonia Orchestra.

Moscow Soloists
Budapest Spring Festival audiences are already familiar with the magic of Yuri Bashmet and the Moscow ensemble. They can look forward to another enchanting evening.

28th Hungarian Press Photo Exhibition

The exhibition of the best press photos of the past year “brings back” the events, faces and moods that made the year 2009 memorable. Moments of drama and joy, struggles, celebration and mourning, everyday life situations, never to be repeated artistic and sports achievements, natural wonders.

PÉTER HALÁSZ – Evocation

At a three-day event series, fellow-artists pay homage to the memory of Péter Halász, theatre director, actor, writer and “amateur actor instructor” (as put by the state security service), who died four years ago.
